Arctic Tails
I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Sierra of Arctic Tails, getting to know her, her husband Ben, and a little bit about their business! Sierra and Ben own Arctic Tails Doggie Daycare and Boarding here in Anchorage, right off of the Abbott/Dimond exit on the Seward Highway. Sierra and Ben together have over 15 years of experience working with animals and are experienced pet parents themselves! They currently have 3 dogs, 3 cats and a bearded dragon. That’s a full house!
Sierra was kind enough to give me a tour of their daycare and boarding facilities, which are pictured below! There are only photos of their new play area because it’s rather distracting for pups to suddenly have a brand new human with a strange machine making clicking noises in their space! If you want to see more photos of their facility (and some adorable pups!) check out their Facebook page here! The newest addition to their facility is their luxury boarding area, which has 8 amazing runs.
Arctic Tails is open 7 days a week for daycare and boarding! In the winter months, they also offer a free indoor playtime on Wednesdays from 7-8 PM! This is open to anyone with a pup that has their shot records and has been treated with a flea, tick and lice preventative (which you can also get at Arctic Tails for $15!). Unlike during daycare hours, owners are free to go back to the play area and play with their pups in a safe environment, out of the Alaskan cold and ice!
Interested in sending your pup to daycare at Arctic Tails?
To become a new client, dogs must go through a two step process:
Pet parents will bring their pup into Arctic Tails for a one-on-one meet and greet with a current Arctic Tails client.
After passing the one-on-one, the new pup will attend a half-day of daycare. During this half-day, there will be a slow and one by one introduction of the daycare pack to the new pup!
